This trip to Mallorca + Spain is a 9-day journey along Spain's rhythmic island of Mallorca, Barcelona, and the Basque Country. It is no wonder that these locations were some of the late writer Ernest Hemingway's treasured spots. Our adventure begins by exploring the captivating island of Mallorca. Here, like the locals, you will experience its history and charm via foot and bicycle. Its mountainous and seaside landscape will leave you in awe. Continue to the artistically eccentric city of Barcelona. Visit the infamous Sagrada Familia, designed by Gaudi. Try your hand at cooking traditional paella. Visit artist Salvador Dali's home in Girona, a small seaside town outside of Barcelona. Conclude your time in Spain in the seaside town of San Sebastian. Its undeniable allure is discovered in its golden beaches, lush hillsides, and venerable dining scene. From your half-day hiking excursion along the spiritual trek of the Camino to savoring its delicacies on your pintxo wine and tapas tour, this city is certain to leave you feeling like a true Spaniard.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO PALMA DE MALLORCA

A private locally-run boutique 4* retreat in Palma de Mallorca

  • Welcomed by your guide and driver upon arrival at the Palma de Mallorca airport. Upon arrival, check into your private boutique accommodation in Old Town, where you will retreat for the following three nights. Your afternoon will be at leisure for you to rest up and prepare for your Spanish adventure. Move at a relaxing pace as you independently stroll the streets of the city or opt to savor a glass of wine from your balcony. This evening, gather and experience Mallorca as the locals do, with a welcome aperitivo reception paired with lively Spanish music.

DAY 2: PALMA DE MALLORCA

A private locally-run boutique 4* retreat in Palma de Mallorca

  • Sleep in and move to the pace of Spanish life. Enjoy your breakfast from your private patio as the vibrant colors and sounds awaken your senses to the welcoming island. Following, meet your private guide for a biking adventure around the city. Follow your exclusive guide via bicycle to a selection of the city's impressive monuments. Learn about one of Europe's tallest Gothic structures, La Seu: the Cathedral of Mallorca. This 14th-century cathedral is on the site of a mosque, which was removed during the invasion of the Moors. It's 61 stained-glass windows give it the name, the Cathedral of Light. Continue your adventure to the Almudaina Royal Palace. Originally built by the Romans, this castle overlooks the scenic bay in Palma de Mallorca. Experience how antiquity lived throughout the centuries to present day. The castle remains the official residence of Spain's royals during their visits to Mallorca. Following your exciting bike ride, conclude at a traditional Spanish restaurant to sample an enticing array of Mallorcan tapas (small bites). Your late afternoon and evening is to be spent at leisure discovering the hidden gems of the city. The rest of the day is yours!

DAY 3: PALMA DE MALLORCA

A private locally-run boutique 4* retreat in Palma de Mallorca

  • Following an early breakfast, take an exclusive Spanish adventure. Meet your private guide in central Palma and travel by local bus to the starting point of your hike. Walk along the historical route once used by local postmen to travel between Mallorca villages. Admire the beautiful mountain scenery as your guide shares details about the island's native vegetation. Pass by the village of Serra Tramuntana, a town known for its Moorish-influenced architecture and rich traditions as a farming community. Continue your hike to a hidden beach favored by Mallorcan locals. Cool off from the hike by basking in the sea and sun while tasting the Mallorcan delicacies of cocas de tramp, empanadas, and gato, a traditional sweet. Depending on your preference, conclude your tour with a swim or a sunbath. Afterwards, travel via local bus to Palma. This evening, gather for dinner at a locally renowned restaurant.

DAY 4: PALMA DE MALLORCA + BARCELONA

  • This morning, say farewell to Mallorca and travel via air to the eccentrically infectious city of Barcelona. Upon your arrival, settle into your private flat in the neighborhood of Pobleneau. This afternoon, discover the visually artistic wonders of Picasso and Gaudi at The Picasso Museum and Sagrada Familia. Concluding, satisfy your appetite with the locals at a private cooking class. Here, you will prepare the traditional favorite meal of paella. This experience, paired with local wines, will leave you feeling like a true Spanish chef. The rest of your evening is at leisure.

DAY 5: BARCELONA + GIRONA

A private locally-run boutique 4* flat in Barcelona

  • This morning, following breakfast, travel northeast via train to the town of Girona. With its medieval walls, winding city streets and one of the best preserved Jewish Quarters in Europe, it offers a perfect day-trip to slow your pace from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. Explore this town and have lunch independently before traveling via a short bus ride to the late surrealist artist, Salvador Dali, home in Cadaques. Enjoy a private tour of this eccentric artist's house and discover more of his personality both inside and outside of the home. Take the late afternoon train back to Barcelona where your evening will be spent at your leisure.

DAY 6: BARCELONA

A private locally-run boutique 4* flat in Barcelona

  • This morning, begin your day with a private tour of Gaudi's famous tiled-park, at Park Guell. The split ceramics decorate the winding bank above the Roman temple. It was intended to serve as Guell's private city, but soon became a world-favorite. Here, Gaudi allowed his imagination to take over and become a playground for its visitors' minds. Next, head to the city's center and discover another one of Gaudi's gems, UNESCO World Heritage Site, Casa Batllo. Travel further into Gaudi's artistic genius and imagination on this one hour tour. Concluding your tour, enjoy the evening at your leisure. Optional add-on experience: Convene this evening for a flamenco show and dinner.

DAY 7: BARCELONA + SAN SEBASTIAN

A private locally-run boutique 4* flat in San Sebastian

  • Depart this morning via train to the alluring Basque Country and city of San Sebastian (approximately 5.5 hours). Lunch is available for independent purchase aboard the train. Upon your late afternoon arrival, check into your private boutique flat in the Old Town neighborhood. Spend your late afternoon exploring the town and possibly having an aperitivo before your independent dinner. The option is yours!

DAY 8: SAN SEBASTIAN

A private locally-run boutique 4* flat in San Sebastian

  • Start your day afresh with a morning hike along the Camino de Santiago trail. Also known as the Way of St. James, the trail is a pilgrimage of Medieval Origin to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. This trek, which starts in France and concludes in northwestern Spain, is a spiritual experience that has attracted thousands of people from all over the world. Named as a UNESCO World Site, for centuries, it has encouraged cultural exchanges between people from all over the world. This afternoon, enjoy your afternoon independently before meeting up in Old Town for a memorable evening of wine and culinary delights. You will take a Pintxo Wine and Tapas tour as you discover the hidden gems of San Sebastian.

DAY 9: SAN SEBASTIAN

A private locally-run boutique 4* flat in San Sebastian

  • Today, the day is yours to enjoy independently. Optional add-on experience: Travel to Bilbao and visit the famous Bilbao Museum. This is a full-day tour that includes train tickets and a private two-hour museum tour. This evening, enjoy your Farewell to Spain dinner at a locally and world-famous restaurant. Dating back to 1897, this family-run and award-winning culinary site encompasses the motto of Worldwide Willett: reflect, renew, retreat.

DAY 10: DEPART SAN SEBASTIAN

  • Depart San Sebastian for your flight back home. Like it's past visitors, returning home inspired and with fond memories of Spain.

Your Trip Price

*On group trips, you’ll be paired with a roommate of your same gender unless you request your own room.

Your journey starts in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and concludes in San Sebastian, Spain.

Your Spain quotation has been prepared for 10 days & 9 nights.

 

Pricing is dependent on total of party and season traveling.

Option to add your own private room for an additional cost.

Terms & Conditions (Worldwide Willett, LLC)

Your Terms & Conditions will be enclosed in your Registration Packet upon sign-up. You may also obtain a copy by submitting a request to info@worldwidewillett.com.

Passport

If traveling internationally, you must be in possession of a passport valid for 6 months after the return from your trip.

Deposit (Pre-planned trips)

A $1,500 non-refundable deposit is required for each traveler to secure the booking. 50% of your balance is due 30 days following your confirmation (varies by destination). Your final balance is due 90 days prior to the trip start date (dependent on the trip)

Rates + Fares

Rates quoted are accurate at the time of quotation and are subject to change until the program is confirmed. All rates are based upon official exchange rates that are guaranteed once programs are paid in full. Air quotes are based on current fares and are subject to change prior to ticketing. Rates are based on confidential tariffs and quoted for a complete program. No price breakdowns will be provided.

Payment

Payments can be made either by 1) full payment on booking 2) Deposit on booking + payment schedule. Payments will be invoiced via email for credit card or via check by mail.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations, less the trip deposit, are refundable up to 90 days prior to the trip start date unless otherwise specified. In addition to the above, you will be liable for any non-refundable deposits paid to suppliers on your behalf. There is no refund for a partially completed tour or for unused services of any kind.

Flexible Booking Policy Specific to COVID-19

In the wake of COVID-19, Worldwide Willett, LLC has implemented a flexible booking policy that allows for deposits and payments to be transferable to the greatest extent possible to new trip dates, should a recurrence of COVID-19 render travel impossible due to border closures and related travel restrictions.

Travel Insurance

The trip price does not include travel insurance. Trip protection-style travel insurance that includes travel medical coverage is required for all trips with Worldwide Willett, LLC. The coverage must have a minimum $200,000 of medical coverage and include injury, medical, evacuation, and repatriation. Trip insurance information will be included upon your registration.

Airlines

Worldwide Willett, LLC has no control over any airline operations and is not responsible for schedule changes, delays or cancellations. Airline delays and any extra expenses incurred are the sole responsibility of the airline.

Force Majeure

Worldwide Willett, LLC is not liable for acts of God, fire, weather, acts of governments or other authorities, wars, civil disturbances, riots, terrorist acts, strikes, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, dangers incident to sea, land and air travel and other similar incidents beyond its control.

Responsibility

Worldwide Willett, LLC is a Georgia-based corporation purchasing transportation, hotel and cruise accommodations, restaurants and other services from various independent suppliers not affiliated with Worldwide Willett, LLC in any way. Although Worldwide Willett, LLC chooses the best suppliers available, the company has no right to control their operations and CANNOT, THEREFORE, BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS which may occur due to (1) wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts of omission on the part of a supplier, its employees and others not under the direct control of Worldwide Willett, LLC, or (2) defects or failures of any aircraft, vessel, automotive vehicle or other equipment under the control of independent suppliers.

Documents, Personal Identification, Vaccinations

Traveler assumes complete and full responsibility for all required travel documents including passport, visas, entry or exit fees, and vaccinations. Travelers are also solely responsible for any adverse consequences resulting from incomplete or defective documentation. Worldwide Willett, LLC does not cover the cost or assist in obtaining any of the above, and reserves the right to collect information on all.
